About this course

This course has been developed by the instructors from the Center of Educational Technology. This course follows closely the Oxford University Press series Navigate; however, it can also be used as a stand-alone online course. Our topics and Vocabulary/Grammar are the same but the course materials are not just duplicating those in the textbook.

If you do decide to work through the textbook and workbook of this series, then you can use this online course as a supplement. Our course is one of the series. Each level in the series is color-coded for your convenience when you browse the Courses at edx.ektu.kz.

Janat Hetrick

Greetings! My name is Janat Hetrick. I am an English teacher and a certified online instructor. I have been teaching English, training teachers, and developing online courses for a few years now. I enjoy the outdoors, especially the mountains, and the best way for me to rest is to spend the weekend hiking. Another favorite activity of mine is reading. If I am not hiking, then I am curled up on the couch with a book, a perfect Saturday. I am passionate about reading and instilling the love of reading in children and adults alike. I read books to little people and help them learn English through audiobooks. I also run a book club for big people (A Novel Idea) - we read stories and novels in English and then discuss them - all online.
